In this class, the participant will learn:

The basics of the legislative process.
Understand the difference between lobbying and advocacy.
Effective forms of advocacy as a leader in the childcare industry.
How to convene a legislative forum.
The basics of deliberative dialogue.
Link with the community resources and with the community.
Staff, families and schools share important information to support the well-being of children and youth.
Everyone works toward making a decision about how he or she acts on the problem or what policy he or she thinks is best for the area/industry/community/state.
Listen carefully to others, especially when their ideas differ from your own.
Be open to changing your mind, as this will help you really listen to the views of others.
Speak your mind freely, but don’t monopolize the conversation.
